About the Rolling Hills Community

Rolling Hills is a covenant controlled residential community on the east side of Spearfish. With reconstruction of I-90 exit 14, access to historic downtown Spearfish, a nearby Walmart Super Center, the Holiday Inn Convention Center and a variety of restaurants and other services will be streamlined and only minutes away.

The community consists of 81 residential lots and is almost fully built out with single family homes. At present, there are only two lots available for new construction. Since some residents own adjacent lots for open space, there are currently 72 mostly year round residents. We have a mixed population ranging from young families to retired couples. We have a strong community interest and a healthy home owners association with good participation in annual HOA meetings and the spring garage sale.

A significant neighborhood asset is the adjacent High Plains Heritage Center. In addition to providing open space on the south side of Rolling Hills, the facility is a museum for artifacts of regional ranching and mining history. High Plains offers periodic free talks on interesting historical topics and attracts visitors to this area of the Black Hills.
